UK Cabinet Office: Ecosystem Innovation

UK Cabinet Office uses Spigit to find innovative solutions from small and medium enterprises

Developed Innovation Launch Pad to gather and select winning ideas

The UK Cabinet Office sought solutions from small and medium-sized enterprises to provide improved services for the public and find cost savings.

The UK Cabinet Office needed to engage hundreds of SMEs to find new high-value products and services to benefit the public and make the government more efficient and effective.

Using the Spigit innovation management platform, the UK Cabinet Office created the Innovation Launch Pad to run open innovation challenges, gather ideas, and allow the participants to do the work of selecting winning proposals.

The Innovation Launch Pad exceeded the expectations of the Cabinet Office, with 355 proposals submitted and nearly 13,000 votes cast. All the participants reported being better positioned to work with government and pitch solutions.

“The response to the Innovation Launch Pad on SpigitEngage surpassed our expectations. It’s not just the quantity of the responses, but the quality of the submissions that were selected by the crowd that really made the difference.”
